Water color from Sentinel-2 MSI data for monitoring large rivers: Yangtze and Danube

چکیده

Rivers provide key ecosystem services that are inherently engineered and optimized to meet the strategic economic needs of countries around world. However, limited water quality records a full river continuum hindered understanding how systems response multiple stressors acting on them. This study highlights use Sentinel-2 Multi-Spectral Imager (MSI) data monitor changes in color two optically complex systems: Yangtze Danube using Forel-Ule Index (FUI). FUI divides into 21 classes from dark blue yellowish brown stemming historical scale has been promoted as useful indicator showing turbidity variations bodies. The results revealed contrasting patterns rivers both spatial seasonal scales. Spatially, River gradually increased upper reaches lower reaches, while declined which is possibly due sediment sink effect Iron Gate Dams. regional peaks valleys observed have also shown be related dams hydropower stations along Seasonally, can attributed climate seasonality, especially precipitation basin level. Moreover, land cover within was significant determinant color, higher levels vegetation were associated with values, whereas values system. furthers our knowledge MSI understand spatial-temporal capabilities an environment.

First Experiences in Mapping Lake Water Quality Parameters with Sentinel-2 MSI Imagery

The importance of lakes and reservoirs leads to the high need for monitoring lake water quality both at local and global scales. The aim of the study was to test suitability of Sentinel-2 Multispectral Imager’s (MSI) data for mapping different lake water quality parameters. In situ data of chlorophyll a (Chl a), water color, colored dissolved organic matter (CDOM) and dissolved organic carbon (...

Mapping of Urban Surface Water Bodies from Sentinel-2 MSI Imagery at 10 m Resolution via NDWI-Based Image Sharpening

This study conducts an exploratory evaluation of the performance of the newly available Sentinel-2A Multispectral Instrument (MSI) imagery for mapping water bodies using the image sharpening approach. Sentinel-2 MSI provides spectral bands with different resolutions, including RGB and Near-Infra-Red (NIR) bands in 10 m and Short-Wavelength InfraRed (SWIR) bands in 20 m, which are closely relate...

Color and COD removal from waste water containing acrylic water base color using Fenton's oxidation process

Degradation of acrylic water base color from synthetic wastewater by the Fenton process was performed. Experiments were conducted on the sample containing 100 and 400 mg/l of Acrylic water base color. The study was performed for searching optimum values of FeSO4 and H2O2 concentration, pH and temperature. The H2O2 requirement seems to be re...
